Buckhannon Academy Elementary

Our September Attendance data is in, and we have maintained near where we left off in August. This past month, Fourth Grade was the overall best average attendance with 94.2%!!! Congratulations to Fourth Grade. Our school's chronic absences did go up considerably. We had 20 days of instruction in September and nearly 24% of our students missed more than 2 days in that time period. Also, we received information from the board office identifying our tardies and early dismissals as a major culprit to our excessive absences. We currently have more tardies and early dismissals than any school in the county. Please understand the importance of sending your student(s) on time in the morning and allowing for instruction to end before picking them up in the evenings. We understand that appointments happen and are necessary, however, many of these instances are repeated by the same students and are not necessary. Thank you for helping to instill the importance of this in our students.
